In September, U2 begins the North American portion of their world tour
in Chicago and will also play stadiums in East Rutherford and Toronto.
Other acts on the road in September include AC/DC, Taylor Swift,
Miley Cyrus, Bruce Springsteen & the E-street Band, Nickelback, Pearl
Jam, Britney Spears, Metallica, Kings of Leon, Dave Mathews Band, Def
Leppard, blink-182 and The Killers.
The NFL’s kickoff weekend begins Thursday September 10th when the
Titans visit the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz
Field. Tom Brady is expected to return to the New England Patriots
when the Pats take on the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.
Week 2 has the Giants visiting Cowboys Stadium, Steelers battling the
Bears and the Patriots taking on the Jets.
Baseball pennant races heat up this month with the Yankees, Phillies,
Cardinals, Angels, Dodgers and Tigers close to clinching playoff
positions.
In tennis, the US Open Men’s Finals is scheduled for September 13th.
UFC 103 is set for Dallas, Texas on September 19th.
On Broadway, June Law stars as Hamlet at the Broadhurst Theatre
beginning September 12th. Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman also hit
Broadway in the two character play A Steady Rain slated for the Gerald
Schoenfeld Theatre. Both could be hot tickets.
The hit musical Wicked plays not only on Broadway, but also
performances scheduled for San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle,
Nashville, London and Des Moines. On tour, Billy Crystal performs his
Broadway hit 700.
